About Hampstead School
Hampstead School is a Camden authority maintained comprehensive School. We have 1280 students (including 240 in the Sixth Form). The school is oversubscribed with a waiting list in all years, admitting 7 forms of entry. Founded in 1961 as a mixed comprehensive school, Hampstead School has remained firmly committed to inclusively educating its entire young people.
Ofsted last term noted that “Staff really like working at the school. They feel valued and very well supported. This is an exciting, dynamic place to work, and its vitality greatly benefits the pupils,” reflect our Investors in People status. Challenge Partners recognised our “exceptional climate for learning”. The first secondary school in London to achieve both the UNICEF Rights Respecting School Award at Level 2 and Achievement for All ambassador status, in 2015 Hampstead School was the recipient of the Pearson Shine a Light Outstanding School of the Year award.
A combination of fabulous new buildings and major refurbishment works will be completed in summer 2017 ready for the Autumn Term. This would allow us to build on what Ofsted already recognise as providing a “well organised and inspiring education” where “pupils behave well and safely across the school”.
